Unit 4 Course Topics:
1.Deliverance and Inner Healing: Satan and his demonic armies would like us to believe that the fields of inner healing and deliverance ministries are incompatible and at odds with each other. In truth, inner healing and deliverance work together hand in hand– being incomplete and inadequate without each other.
2.Personal and Corporate Strongholds: Individual strongholds are unique, shaped according to each person’s history and development. Corporate strongholds affect us all; each of us reacts to them differently and then we include them in our own personal way of thinking. Both types of strongholds capture our minds and rob us of the ability to think freely.
3.Spiritual Captivity: Scripture tells us that Satan intends not only to kill and destroy, but to steal. As believers, salvation cannot be stolen from us. We are redeemed. But when we flee, turn away from, or simply refuse to live life with all its risks, Satan can step in to imprison our spirit, stealing our capacity to function in the fullness of life.
4.Slumbering Spirit: Across the globe many believers operate in a state of spiritual slumber. It is time to wake up (Romans 13:11b). This teaching looks at the effects of a slumbering spirit on the lives of believers and how to assist those who are slumbering to become fully awake.
5.Healing Relationships To Authority: God’s plan for us to learn proper respect for and submission to authority, was that we learn through our family relationships where we are to feel protected and blessed. Most of us, through our own wounding, rebelliousness and poor models of leadership, have grown up with attitudes and issues that need to be conformed to His word. (Romans 12:2)
6.The Wounded Burden Bearer: Burden bearers come to know Jesus better than those who do not respond to that call. The more we bear the burdens of others, the more we feel the weight and horror of sin, and thus the more we sense the price our Lord pays for our continued existence. Until we begin to experience suffering for others, we cannot fully appreciate His eternal gift of redemptive suffering for us.
7.The Blessing of Burden Bearing: If soul and spirit are properly settled into separate functions, then our Lord can lay a burden into our spirit and we are not torn up everywhere all at once. Our own emotions and thoughts remain undisturbed, and we maintain sufficient detachment to identify, pray and remain in balance. Our hearts and minds may grapple with a problem, but our spirit, aligned with God, is at peace.

Unit 2 Course Topics:
Repentance and Restitution: God has given us the gifts of repentance and restitution in order that we might be healed of the wounds caused by sin. Without them, we would suffer as both victim and offender, with no hope of release. This topic provides understanding of what true repentance and restitution are.
Performance Orientation: The constant tendency of the born anew is to fall back into striving by human effort. Our minds and spirits know the free gift of salvation, but our hearts retain their habit to earn love by performing. We live unaware that motives other than God’s love have begun to corrupt our serving through striving, tension and fear. There is a way to escape that trap.
Parental Inversion and Substitute Mate: Parental inversion is not an easy sin to hate. The difficulty is that it has become for many the most noble definition of life; the sacrifice and service it involves are readily justified by Scripture. But God asks us to lay down our lives for others for His sake, rather than out of the impure motives of our wounded hearts.
Basic Trust: Basic trust is the fundamental building block of all human relationships and is accomplished within the first mental year. A break in the first mental year causes a break all through life. You will learn how God can heal this wound and how to build strong foundations of trust again.
Identifications of Love: On our own, we are not capable of loving as God loves. When we try to love in our flesh, we limit love’s expression. God wants to bring our versions of love to death on the cross. This teaching is about identifications of love. These identifications are ‘packages’ of specific words, gestures, actions and attitudes that we deem to be love. Formed from childhood, these ‘packages’ are idols that define and limit our idea of what true love is; they almost assuredly deny us the full joy of giving and receiving it. When we demand our identifications of love from those around us, we defile the very relationships we value most. God desires to bring freedom to both receive and express His love in its many forms.
Recognition of Fruit to Root: A prayer minister must look, as God does, upon the heart. We must learn the importance of listening and establishing the trust necessary to allow people to share their lives. Sensitive listening occurs in three ways: we listen with our minds; with our empathic personal spirits; and with an ear to what God wants to tell us. Our listening results in information-gathering which will lead us to areas of woundedness, helping us to recognize fruit-to-root patterns.
